Victoria's Secret has a novel idea for Christmas - cowboy chaps that expose your derriere.

Its festive campaign has a somewhat perplexing Wild West theme in which its high-profile models - including Sara Sampaio, Stella Maxwell and Candice Swanepoel - were required to wear chaps that showcased their posteriors. They came in a myriad of fabrics, from suede and denim to lace and leather. After all, nothing says 'Merry Christmas' like bare bottoms and cowboy hats.

The Angels look terribly excited by the brand's latest creation. In fact, they all shared an abundance of Instagram pictures of themselves wearing them - some jiggled their behinds, others snuggled up to horses and of course, two straddled each other for an obligatory girl-on-girl shot. Josephine Shriver is pictured inexplicably laughing her head off while she hugs a tree topless, derriere firmly on show.

Victoria's Secret has featured the aforementioned chaps before - a sheer pink athleisure version made an appearance in last year's catwalk show, as modelled by Harieth Paul.

Alas, if you were hoping to wear a pair on Christmas Day this year, it's unlikely that the daring design will go on sale. Much like the angel wings that feature in the label's annual shows, the chaps are probably just another unsubtle talking point designed to sell its lingerie.
