This fashion month, we have already seen a huge array of highly covetable handbags (you can see our favourites here) – and while there are plenty of new designs popping up everywhere, there was one unusual trend that we couldn't help noticing again and again. Seen at Tibi, Tory Burch and Rejina Pyo, models held their totes folded in half and clutched close to the body, rather than hanging on the shoulder.

Tibi showed a black leather tote worn as a large clutch, as well as presenting colourful top-handled bags which were held on the hip with the straps falling down.

At Tory Burch, it was a very similar story. Large workwear-appropriate bags were folded and held into the body, rather than being worn on the shoulder.

And finally, at Rejina Pyo's show this weekend, the designer of the moment confirmed that it was no longer cool to wear your bag as once originally intended. She showed large leather handbags folded completely in half and carried as if they didn't even have straps.

Although this trend is not a particularly practical one if you have a lot of stuff to carry with you that day, it will definitely help you to put a very cool spin on your current accessories and should more easily allow you to successfully pull off another one of fashion's most divisive trends, shrobing.
