Gwendoline Christie was rocking two hot spring trends on Monday night at the ELLE Style Awards 2013 – matte red lips and a strong side parting.

Shu Uemura’s Senior Make-up Artist Haydn Jones got all textural with a dewy complexion, glittering gold eyes and a punchy matte red lip.

According to Mr Shu Uemura himself, ‘make-up always starts and finishes with cleansing,’ so Jones used Shu Uemura’s Ultime8 Cleansing Oil.

After moisturising Jones applied Stage Performer Instant Glow to add a ‘beautiful luminosity,’ followed by Face Architect Illuminating Moisture Foundation in 784.

‘I applied this with Synthetic 14 brush to enhance the glow of the foundation’. A little bronzer and highlighter applied where the sun naturally hits the face finished the look.

The eye was a mega mix of numerous products! Cream Eye Shadow in P Brown as a base, followed by Bronze Gold eye shadow ME 280 for a strong base of colour.

‘For a 3D effect I mixed Gold and White Gold glitter together and applied with a brush just to the centre on the eye. A little matte soft brown shadow in M 863 on the outer and inner corners of the eye added extra definition. Plenty of blending followed by liner then Xtreme mascara later and eye look was complete.

That amazing statement lip? Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited Supreme Matte M165.

Adam Reed of Percy & Reed created a hairstyle in Christie’s short hair that was a ‘cross between a 60's Twiggy and the main character in Night Porter, a clean sleek masculine look’.

The hair was prepped with Percy & Reed No Oil Oil and then blow dried into a deep side parting. The hair was then smoothed with Percy & Reed Finishing Polish.

‘We took the side parting a-symmetrically fully through to the back of the head finishing with a mist of Percy & Reed Hairspray’.
