Putting ELLE to bed, as they say. The magazine, our biannual catwalk bible, includes an Afghan called Lucah. And I've also been learning more about French Bulldog Dougal, who features in our Accessories supplement. Not as an accessory, you understand I'm not barking mad but because we think laterally here, don't you know? He's nine months old and we may have to adopt him.

When I was getting on the Tube home (yes, I do often travel by Tube), the guard a man at Oxford Circus station saw me reading her obituary in the paper and came up to me to talk about how sad it was to lose such a talent.
