As I type I have 20 minutes before I head off to congratulate Fashion East founder Lulu Kennedy on her MBE which she collected from the palace today. Lulu and I once swore we'd learn to surf together – a dream of perhaps living a life that wasn't quite so busy. That was years ago and neither of us have quite reached standing up stage!

I've been editing ELLE and ELLE Collections (as well as having a fourth child) and she's been single-handedly launching some of the most amazing names in fashion. Lulu is one of my fashion heroes because like all the greats; Lulu works from instinct. She is a believer in making others believe they can do it – you only need one person in your life like that if you have a big dream, and before you know it things start to happen.

So I salute her and marvel at her determination, business acumen, and ability to keep her enthusiasm for London fashion as strong as it ever was. Everyone should have heroes whatever industry they are in.

(Lulu Kennedy MBE)

After drinks with Lulu I'm heading to the Royal Opera House to watch the ballet Romeo and Juliet as a guest of Audi cars. Nights like this make my job magical and I never fail to appreciate how lucky I am to be in this position. I'm off to get changed! An Erdem dress is calling!

Micheal Kors pink 'nailed' this seasons brights I think. So easy to wear but making a statement at the same time.

Sandro shoes:

Before spring summer I would never have dreamed of wearing such a 'clashy' colour but now there are no rules! You can wear any colour you like. Dare you.

Ipad case:

Very covetable and feminine. Apple should be proud of this case by Stella McCartney.

Necklace with names:

This personalised necklace was sent to me by Chambers & Beau jewellery. It's the names of my children, Sky, Gracie, Mabel and Henry.
