Wedge heels are definitely back for 2022. Flatforms have had their day. We're looking for vertiginous footwear again, if the popularity of Versace's medusa platforms are anything to go by. OK, so strappy naked sandals are still hitting just the right kind of note with slinky slip dresses, they're definitely not made for standing around on the lawn at a garden party or outdoor wedding. Thanks to Castañer and people like Kate Middleton, the wedge heel is definitely back on top. Leg-lengthening, stabilising, A-lister attracting, the wedge sandal is the shoe to keep you upright at this year's grassy functions.
If you're not ready for a super bold dress during this summer's spate of weddings and outdoor 'dos, perhaps you can make a statement with your footwear instead.
