Children’s TV presenters are not usually renowned for their fashion credentials, but 28-year-old Laura Jackson – currently of ITV’s Scrambled!, formerly of T4’s Freshly Squeezed – is a somewhat more stylish proposition. We’re standing in Jackson’s walk-in wardrobe in the east London flat she shares with her boyfriend, fashion photographer Jon Gorrigan, and her sleepy whippet, Barry. There are neatly stacked and labelled boxes of shoes and boots, and shelves of immaculately folded jumpers – testament to her teenage Saturday jobs in the Leeds branches of Harvey Nichols, AllSaints and Whistles.

Her daytime outfit formula is simple: 'interesting skirt' (like her hessian Orla Kiely number, with embroidered flowers) + cashmere jumper + ankle boots (she currently likes Penelope Chilvers' suede Chelsea ones). “I like the French way of dressing: understated, simple, classic, with a muted palette. I wear a lot of navy and grey, and I don’t wear many accessories.'
After growing up in Huddersfield, Jackson moved to London More
