Stella McCartney Wins 'British Brand of The Year' At The 2016 ELLE Style Awards

Let's raise a class to Stella McCartney, who has just won British Brand of The Year for her eponymous fashion house at the ELLE Style Awards 2016!

Starting her career as an intern at Christian Lacroix in her teens, Stella McCartney's work has always caught our attention for all the right reasons.

Her 1995 Central Saint Martins graduate collection featured Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and Yasmin Le Bon as models, and proved a success with retailers from Browns to Bergdorf Goodman.

Two years later, she had the daunting task of taking over from Karl Lagerfeld as creative director at Chloé.

Whatever reservations her predecessor might have had about her appointment, he was swiftly reassured by the critical and commerical success of her designs. 

She left Chloé in 2001 to develop her own brand, and the rest is history.
