Did you know that 31 million girls arent in school?
Its a shocking statistic, and one that charity A World At School, which was co-founded by Sarah Brown, was keen to highlight this week ahead of International Womens Day.
In conjunction with Facebook Women, the organization gathered Londons most powerful female voices among them Emma Freud, Jo Whiley, Paloma Faith, Britt Lintner and, of course, ELLE at a conference where the global empowerment of women was very much at the top of the agenda.
We were particularly moved by the speech made by education advocate Amrit Kaur Lohia: There is a famous saying If you think you are too small to have an impact try going to bed with a mosquito.
