Mark Zuckerberg's bid for world domination took another step forward last night as it was announced that Facebook has bought everybody's favourite social messaging app, Whatsapp.

The Facebook boss had a spare £11.4 billion lying around so snapped up the service and its 450 million monthly users.

Facebook has faced criticism for losing it's grip on a younger audience in recent years so the savvy move should go some way in helping the social media company get back down with the kids.

Zuckerberg's last big spending spree led to the acquisition of Instagram for $1 billion in 2012.

So the question is: what's next on his shopping list?
