The newly weds put on a very public display of affection in a street cafe -so continental. Can you imagine Gordon and Sarah doing the same?
If you don't know already, Carla Bruni shot to fame in the 1990s as one of the group of high earning models who helped to coin the term Supermodel. She was one of the highest earners of the decade, walking for the worlds biggest brands from Calvin Klein to Dolce and Gabbana, and at one stage reportedly earned over 7 million dollars in one year!
However, shes not just a pretty face. Carla is tri-lingual speaking fluent English, French and Italian, can hold her own in any debate she once dated the philosopher Raphael Enthoven with whom she has a six-year-old son - and also released an album in 2002 (described as French folk) which then sold over 1 million copies.
So it seems the girl has it all - brains as well as beauty. No wonder she has in the past captivated some of the worlds sexiest men like Mick Jagger and Eric Clapton (though were not sure what she was thinking when she reportedly stepped out with Donald Trump) and that the French press too are mesmerized by her.
Politically she has always positioned herself publicly on the left making her match with right-wing Sarkozy even more intriguing. Carla has also been quoted as saying that monogamy bores her interesting. Time can only tell then if her new role as Frances first lady is set to last, or if shell be back on the catwalks as part of the recent 1990s supermodel revival trend - we much prefer the latter!
