While most families choose, at some point or another, to move out of London to the country, the Beckhams are moving in.

Britain’s most famous power couple has sold ‘Beckingham Palace’ for £12 million, making a huge £9.5 million profit after buying the sprawling 12-acre Hertfordshire estate back in 1999.

The central London townhouse set the Beckhams back £40 million and is rumoured to be undergoing £5 million of renovations ahead of the family moving in.

The new house will include rooms for hairdressing, manicures and make-up as well as a separate room for Victoria’s shoe collection – yes, she does have some shoes left after donating 100 pairs to the British Red Cross last week.

The lower ground floor is comprised of a gym, massage room, a small garden and then access to an underground garage for David’s car collection. It even has a secret tunnel via which the Beckhams’ staff and security team will be able to access the property.

It’s not the family’s only property - they have homes in Los Angeles, Dubai and the South of France, with the couple looking set to split their time between the US and UK.

While £40 million is a huge amount of money to spend, accounts show that the couple brought in a jaw-dropping £100,000 every single day in 2012.
