ArtPop might be Lady Gaga's highly anticipated album, but it was her wardrobe at its release party – dubbed ARTRAVE – that stole the show. (Why are we not surprised?)Gaga entered the event, held at the Brooklyn Navy Yard in New York, in the world's first 'flying dress'. The battery-operated couture hover vehicle was designed by TechHaus Studio XO (the technical brand of the Haus of Gaga), and was two years in the making. 'I wanted to make today about something even more important to me,' said Gaga. 'Benjamin and Nancy [the TechHause designers] are here with me today. Their minds are just so boundless. I will be a vehicle today for their voices.'
Gaga also announced that her ultimate goal is to stage the first musical performance from outer space. Maybe she hasn’t seen Gravity yet... The ARTRAVE entrance featured a larger-than-life nude white statue of Gaga by Jeff Koons, the artist who created the naked Kate Moss statue, and portraits of Gaga by her favourite photographer couple Inez and Vinoodh covered the walls.
