Can you be feminine and a feminist? Of course you can, according to Joan Collins. In an interview in the Independent on Sunday, the actress, famed for her love of all things eye-wateringly expensive and sparkly, said she was ‘probably’ a feminist. ‘At least if it means when a woman is exactly equal to a man except physically,’ she continued. ‘But wanting to cover oneself in jewels or couture or make-up and cherish being a woman, I don't think there's anything wrong with that either.' We couldn’t agree more.

Best known for her role as Dynasty’s Alexis Carrington, 80-year-old Joan added, 'We should celebrate being a woman and having the opportunities to do things that our mothers and grandmothers were not allowed to do. They were expected to stay at home and do the cooking and the cleaning. Though of course now we're expected to do the cooking and the cleaning and the working.'

We'll let you in on a secret too - the icon will be doing a one-woman show at London's Leicester Square Theatre next February. So it you want to hear more of her pearls of wisdom - and quite frankly, who wouldn't? - book yourself a ticket now.
