After much jittery speculation, the nominations for the 66th Emmy Awards have been announced.

Game of Thrones leads the pack with a staggering 19 nominations in categories including Outstanding Drama (we can certainly vouch for this) and Outstanding Casting. Kit Harington, we salute you.

Other unsurprising nominations include a nod to Benedict Cumberbatch, aka our favourite detective Sherlock Holmes, as well as Lena Dunham for bringing us ‘voice of our generation’, Hannah Horvath in Girls.

Emerging shows such as Orange Is the New Black (controversial prison dramedy and the latest ELLE obsession) also made the cut.

Will our favourites win big? We’ll have to wait and see.

The winners will be announced 25 August.
