Katy Perrys new track Roar is currently going head-to-head with Lady Gagas on iTunes in the US and winning.
Our ELLE cover star yesterday confirmed that she will perform the single, her first from new album , for the first time at the MTV Video Music Awards on 26 August. Gaga will also perform.
Not that theres any real competition between them...
It's all about the music and I really agree with her message, said Perry, speaking about Gaga to AMP Radio. I've always been a fan of hers and I like to see her evolution.
I think that it's also nice that we're all in the same kind of cycle together because it really keeps us both on our toes.
We can add Rihanna into the megastar love-in, too: Perrys old friend (and fellow 2013 ELLE UK cover star) turned out to help her celebrate at Prisms pre-release party in NYC last night.
