MTV have announced that Kanye West will perform Black Skinhead from his new album Yeezus at the Video Music Awards on the 25 August.
It will be the seventh time Kanye has performed at the annual awards ceremony. Madonna is the only other artist to have done so as many times.
Lady Gaga is also set to debut her new single Applause at the event, ahead of the release of her new album ARTPOP on the 11 November.
The VMAs are not just about the music though. This year’s ceremony is bound to be as eventful as ever. Back in 2010 Gaga wore the infamous meat dress and in 2009 Kanye West stormed the stage to interrupt Taylor Swift’s Best Female Video acceptance speech to argue that Beyoncé should have won instead. Extraordinary. Expect more outrageous fashion moments and bizarre celebrity antics this year.
Team ELLE will be rooting for ELLE’s June cover star Miley Cyrus who is up for three awards and Justin Timberlake - because he’s lovely - and leads the nominations with six (we’re pretty sure we’re backing a winner there).
The 2013 MTV Video Awards will be shown on MTV from 8pm on Monday August 26.
