Brace yourself: we’ve just watched this short film, entitled #likeagirl, made by Always, and had a bit of a cry.

The premise? A group of women, men and boys are asked to demonstrate what it means to run and throw like a girl. Then a group of girls are asked to do the same...and that’s when we started to well up.

The idea is that we start to seriously question, in the spirit of feminism and empowering girls as they pick their way through the perils of puberty, why saying that you do anything like a girl is viewed as an insult rather than a compliment.
