Hillary Clinton’s fashion-world ties just keep getting stronger.

Having presented the Eleanor Lambert Founders Award to Oscar de la Renta at this year’s CFDA Awards, she’s now set to receive an award of her very own: the first-ever Michael Kors Award for Outstanding Community Service.

The designer himself will hand the former US secretary of state her gong at the God’s Love We Deliver Golden Heart Awards dinner on 16 October.

‘I am deeply honored to present Mrs. Clinton with this award that means so much to me,’ says Kors. ‘She is a dedicated and enormously effective humanitarian whose commitment to community service encompasses the whole planet.

‘Thanks to her talent, devotion and unrelenting efforts on behalf of those with much less, she has improved millions of lives and helped lay the foundation for a better, more just world.’

The Golden Heart Awards – which is sponsored by Kors’ food charity God’s Love We Deliver, which provides meals to people with life-altering illnesses in the New York area – annually recognise individuals and organisations who contribute to its cause. It will coincide with World Food Day this year.
