The most successful models in history are renowned for their runway walks. From predator-inspired stomps to laid-back hip swings, each supermodel has perfected archetypal struts, catapulting them to international fame and catwalk notoriety.
And it looks like New York Fashion Week 2016 has been the perfect opportunity for the rising elite of new supermodels to debut their runway swaggers, from Gigi Hadid's TommyXGigi debut for Tommy Hilfiger to Hailey Baldwin's runway appearance for Jeremy Scott.
In honour of the new catwalk struts, we look back at the catwalk techniques that continue to steal the spotlight.
1. Karlie Kloss: The panther
Dubbed 'the panther' or 'the predator', Karlie Kloss' stride is famed for exuding confidence and authority.
At 6ft 2, Karlie uses her hips to sashay down the catwalk in heels with exaggerated arm movements to ensure all eyes are on her.
2. Naomi Campbell: The Strut
Remember Beyoncés attitude-filled walk in her music video 'Crazy in Love'?
Well, it was reportedly inspired by Naomi's famous strut, which mixes the perfect level of sophistication and laissez-faire air.
3. Gigi Hadid: The Authority
She might appear to be the Californian 'girl next door' smiling with Taylor's squad and enjoying nights in with her boyfriend Zayn Malik on Instagram but on the catwalk, Gigi is a force to be reckoned with.
Gigi's slightly tilted forward shoulders and soft movement on the catwalk shows everyone who is boss.
4. Coco Rocha: The Angled
With her inimitable bone structure, Coco makes sure viewers are mesmerised by her theatrical walk, added with a subtle head move with each step.
5. Jourdan Dunn: The Structured
Unlike her contemporaries, Jourdan doesn't rely on her hips and legs to emphasise her walk.
She keeps her legs tightly tucked together with minimal waist movement that's far more subtle than Karlie and Naomi's struts.
6. Hailey Baldwin: The Speedster
A frequent sight on Tommy Hilfiger's catwalk, Hailey is known for taking large, fast-paced, tomboy-esque strides down the catwalk that are slightly more considered than Gigi's.
7. Gisele Bündchen: The Bounce
From Chanel to Céline, the highest paid model in the world is never not seen on the catwalk without effortless bouncing hair and a cross-over leg technique that would make us mere mortals topple over.
