The title of Helen Fielding’s new novel has finally been revealed - Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy.

We, along with 15 million others, devoured Fielding’s first book, Bridget Jones’ Diary and the follow up, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason when they came out in the 90s.

We fell in love with ‘Bridge’, her big pants, calorie and cigarette counting and disastrous relationship dramas.

Next, two Hollywood adaptations came along starring the brilliant Renée Zellweger and we were hooked all over again.

Then nothing. Nine cold, lonely Bridget-free years have passed. Until now.

Here’s what we’re looking forward to from the next installment -

Leisa Barnett?, news & social media editor

‘Now Christmas jumpers are officially cool, what sartorial challenge is next for Darcy? Meggings? Mewellery?’

Rebecca Lowthorpe, fashion features director

'I predict that Bridget Jones will be married with two kids and will have thus lost tonnes of weight and be in no need of big pants anymore. She will bump into Daniel Cleaver who has by now moved to Hollywood to become a big film producer hot shot. The whole story will be about how they might or might not have an affair. She will get her Twitter mixed up with her texts and inadvertently tweet something obscene about Cleaver that will land her in a whole lot of trouble / be painfully embarrassing to watch…'

Annabel Brog, editor at large

'I want to find out why she's single again.'

Collette Lyons, acting content director

'She's going to have a little baby boy and get totally obsessed, of course.'

Susie Wong, deputy chief sub-editor

'Number of hours spend on Facebook including Facebook stalking Daniel Cleaver and Darcy's ex-girlfriend. Number of hours taking selfies to make oneself look good on Facebook and Instagram.'

'Ok, Bridget, I know you say you're absolutely Mad About The Boy, but what about Daniel Cleaver? Are you REALLY over him? Would you run into his arms after a few too many white wines? Is Cleaver REALLY out of your system?'

11.27 p.m. Just presss d SEND. Iss fineisn’t it?

You see, this is the trouble with the modern world. If it was the days of letter-writing, I would never even have started to find his address, a pen, a piece of paper, an envelope, a stamp, and gone outside at 11.30p.m. to find a postbox. A text is gone at the brush of a fingertip, like a nuclear bomb or exocet missile.
