Model Coco Rocha has announced that she is the newest contributing editor to PC Magazine.

It may seem like an unlikely hook-up but in her first column she explains to PC Mag readers who she is and why her new role makes total sense. ‘I have an audience of nearly 10 million across my social media platforms,’ she writes. ‘I'm the kind of girl who'd rather buy a new tablet over a new pair of heels… Hopefully in my column for PCMag you'll see the worlds of fashion and technology getting a little closer each month.'

Rocha is obviously a woman after our own hearts since at ELLE, we’re the first fashion magazine to really embrace online with our new ‘ELLE 360’ approach, utilising one team that works across print, online and social media. This means, like Rocha, we get as excited about online platforms as the latest must-have shoe.

In Rocha’s first column she heads to Shapeways 3D Factory, where people can send designs for objects to be printed to see if the new technology could see a faster turnaround in trends.

‘3D printing could turn the usual routine of waiting six months to see runway clothes in stores into seeing pieces at your front door just days after the show,’ pens the model.

‘Beyond 3D printing alone, it's clear that there are many opportunities for fashion and technology to merge in a much deeper way in the future’.

Looks like pcmag.com has a place in our bookmarks bar after all…
