We all know Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mulligan, but who’s joining them in Baz Lurhmann’s lavish adaptation?

Tobey Maguire

Tobey plays narrator Nick Carraway, who becomes fascinated by the wealthy Gatsby (DiCaprio).

Now 37, Tobey found fame in 1997 with Ang Lee’s The Ice Storm and went on to star in Ride With The Devil, Wonder Boys and three Spider-Man movies. It bodes well that he looks the part.

Joel Edgerton

Aussie Joel takes on the key role of Tom Buchanan, husband to Daisy (Mulligan).

You might recognise him from Ned Kelly (2003) (where he starred alongside Heath ledger) or Smokin’ Aces (2006) and he scored rave reviews for Animal Kingdom (2010) and last year’s Zero Dark Thirty.

Elizabeth Debicki

Newcomer Elizabeth won the enviable role of Jordan, famous golfer and friend to Daisy.

The 22-year-old has only made one film before – Aussie/Brit wedding comedy A Few Best Men – but director Baz Lurhmann was so impressed he flew her to LA for auditions.

Isla Fisher

Baz sure loves his fellow Aussies – here’s another you may have heard of.

The Home And Away actress plays Tom’s mistress Myrtle – just one of a string of Hollywood roles including Wedding Crashers and Confessions of a Shopaholic.

Jason Clarke

Myrtle's husband is played by Jason Clarke who is, you guessed it, Australian.

Also a Home And Away alumnus, he had a small role alongside Carey Mulligan in Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps before playing Tom Hardy’s brother in Lawless, also starring Jessica Chastain.

He re-teamed with Jessica for a major role in Zero Dark Thirty, playing her colleague Dan.
