Emma Stone is filming her new Netflix series Maniac in New York City right now—which yesterday involved her transforming into the most '80s version of herself while shooting on Long Island.
The giant platinum curls! The outfit! And the '80s Jonah Hill alongside her! It's all so wow.
This is the only day Stone has been shot in '80s attire. She was previously photographed shooting the show in a much more present-day outfit:
But the retro get-up does hint there will be at least one '80s-themed scene in the series. And it fits right into the show's premise. According to Variety, Maniac is a dark comedy about a man (Hill), "who lives a fantasy life in his dreams, but in reality, is locked up at an institution." Stone is another patient with him at that institution—and, presumably, a major character in that dream life, too.
