How ELLE’s heart swelled when we spotted this picture of two of our favourite women together the very same room.

Kate Middleton met with baking guru Mary Berry yesterday in Saunderton, Buckinghamshire, as part of the royal couple’s visit in support of the charity Child Bereavement UK.

It was a poignant day on both sides: Berry’s son William died in a car crash, aged 19, in 1989, while Prince William lost his mum the same way when he was just 15. Kate, of course, is five months pregnant with the couple’s first child.

Yesterday, however, was one of joy, as Kate scooped up soft toys and sweets from wellwishers – but didn't let anything slip about baby this time.

Apparently, she has been doing a bit of family nesting though. She told Berry in front of the attendant press: ‘I’m a big fan of your cook books and your cakes.’

William joked that his ‘tummy’s a fan’, before admitting his baking weakness: chocolate brownies.
