Exciting news, Kylie watchers: the singer is set to make a return to the small screen in her most high-profile TV role since she shot to fame in Australian soap opera Neighbours.

Last month’s ELLE cover girl has landed a part in the deliciously entitled Hey Diddly Dee – a black comedy drama running as part of the new Sky Arts’ Playhouse Presents series – as an Edie Sedgwick-type character putting on a play about Andy Warhol.

‘When the script was sent to me, I read it and knew I wanted to be part of this project,’ says Kylie. ‘Marc [Warren, writer and director] has created a beautiful and quirky story. I love that they have created a platform for this type of work.’

She has recently expressed a desire to put her music career on the back-burner in favour of acting. Last year, she starred Leos Carax film Holy Motors to glowing reviews.
