Kate Winslet took a trip to the palace yesterday to pick up her CBE from the Queen for services to drama; congratulations Kate!

The actress opted for simplicity in her outfit, wearing a black structured skirt suit by She accessorised the chic black look with a black and white feather hat, inspired by magpies.

The hat was a creation by up and coming milliner, Natalie Ellner, the Telegraph reports. ELLE cover star Kate commissioned the hat especially for the occasion and, according to the hat maker; ‘It's taken about a month to create, going backwards and forwards with Kate,’ Natalie explained that the star ‘had a lot of input, it had to reflect her personality’

Natalie creates bespoke hats and masks for her own line Elsewhere. She trained on the Costume, Make-up and Special Effects course at the London College of Fashion, and as well as making several items for Kate, she was also commissioned to make masks for the opening ceremony of the Olympics.
