ELLE's music correspondent, Mark Ellen is on Rihanna's tour plane. Repeat - he's flying through the air with megastar Rihanna, designers makeup artists, and only a few magnums of premium champagne to sustain him.

Here's his update from day four of the tour...;

Bets are being laid as to how late the shows are going to start. In Mexico it was an hour behind schedule, Toronto about 75 minutes.

Last night the Rihanna Navy hooked down cripplingly expensive vodka tonics for two extra hours til the girl bowled onstage in Stockholm at 11pm.

ELLE and friends labelled the night's look 'Eighties double-denim ghetto fabulous with Sixties plastic pop-art shades - and no bra'.

I run into her costume designer Adam Selman who calls it 'her relaxed street look that we're taking onstage. Tonight were some Tom Ford heels and a vintage Chanel belt and necklace. The shorts were American Apparel and the see-through top was a Wolford bodysuit. We started with something thinner but the material had to get a bit thicker in the end! A great body to work with! We've got fifteen duffel bags of her clothes with us.'

How long does she take to get ready for the show? 'Two hours hair and make-up, ten minutes getting dressed.'

She gave away the night's HTC phone with the words 'it's a one-of-one, major bragging rights!' The chandelier-filled baroque 19th century ballroom got monumental versions of Umbrella and Man Down and ended 80 minutes later with a massive explosion of glitter and pyros and We Found Love.

At which point an aftershow kicked off in a club downstairs full of pop art and robotic lights and a cocktail barman in shorts with barbed wire tattooed on his arms.

In the corner - hilarious - an S&M dungeon full of whips, chains, gimpological masks and $600 leather dresses. This was run by two slightly severe Swedish matrons who decided our shrieks of mirth were 'disrespectful to the sex industry'. Cheer up, ladies.

Rihanna went back to her 'all white with pink accent' dressing room til four in the morning then wanted to join the aftershow. 'All her clothes had been shipped back to the hotel but I had a custom Camouflage dress in my bag and she wore that,' Adam told me. 'It's a reference piece to the upcoming River Island collection.'

Barging aside the barbed-wired barman, she started pouring tequila shots for anyone in reach. She stayed for nearly an hour, tipping out the booze and posing for pictures with some of the tour party.
The band coach left, very late, for Stockholm airport at nine this morning - Ri not on board - and pulled over at a motorway McDonald's, the entire gang chanting 'breakfast! Breakfast!' (Q: When do private jets take off? A: When all the passengers have turned up).

Hangover levels are high - 'we're on the Struggle Bus'. A few comments flying around on the coach - 'Excellent, this McDonald's has WiFi!' (Entering the countryside): 'Ooh look at the little horses!' 'I'm down to earth, just not down to THIS earth!' 'We're in there like swimwear!' 'Can I get blinis with that?'

Ran into Adam Selman again at Stockholm Airport and asked him about the first two nights' stage clothes. 'Mexico was an Alexander Wang jacket and Opening Ceremony Shorts and custom Manolo Blahnik shoes. Toronto was a custom bra made by me, Opening Ceremony culottes and some grey custom Manolo shoes.'

'It's not a 'costume', it's a lifestyle,' her stylist Mel Ottenburg added. 'She has such an innate and killer sense of style. Cool and pretty fearless. She's very comfortable in her in own skin. Such a great body - and she doesn't have to work it too hard.'

Just ran into Rihanna's personal chef, Kamal Kalikoh. What does he cook for her? 'She loves pasta, gives her energy. She likes carbs but she's not a carb freak, loves curried chicken.'

Any guilty pleasures? 'Bayan candies.'The band just stopped off for a McDonald's. Would she have had one too? 'She says no to fast food. She eats healthy - though look at her, it wouldn't matter!'

Just landed in Paris (bit weird for your ELLE correspondent who was expecting Berlin). Has to be said, private jet stewardesses are one up on Ryan Air. Sample conversation:-

Her: 'Like a drink?

'Me: 'It's a bit early but ... Why not?

'Her: 'Awesome. See, it wasn't that hard!

'Me: 'Bloody Mary, please.

'Her: 'Here you go. And, hey, let me know if it doesn't work out for you!

'Tomorrow IS Germany apparently and London on Monday. Another Bloody Mary, anyone?
