The immaculately turned out style blogger Olivia Palermo was in Liverpool this morning to cut the red tape and declare Harvey Nichols' Beauty Bazaar open.
'This is definitely one stop shopping for a woman in beauty. The store is really cool,' Palermo told ELLE.
The Bazaar houses desirable beauty brands including YSL and Bobbi Brown - two of Palermo's favourites, she says - in a unique space that also boasts a Champagne nail bar, James Read tanning studio and several treatment rooms where you can have everything from a chocolate wax (courtesy of Strip) to Botox injections (administered by the team of London based surgeon Dr Karidis).
True to Liverpool's style capital reputation (and the legions of beauty journalists who had turned out for the launch) there were many heads of glamourous, tumbling hair on show at today's launch. 'Everyone loves to get their hair done. I'm really feeling this little side plait today,' Palermo said of her own look, created for her at Mark Wooley's Electric Hair Lounge during her visit.
As for her day-to-day beauty regime Palermo told ELLE, 'I'm not very high maintenance when it comes to beauty. My top tip is to take a day or two off from make-up when you're at home. I also drink a lot of water with lemon to keep my skin hydrated.'
While Palermo's classic look inspires its own share of fans, we asked who she looks to for inspiration. 'My modern day beauty icon is Monica Belucci,' she said, 'and I love old Hollywood stars - Audrey Hepburn!'
As you explore the three floors of the Beauty Bazaar you are greeted by quotes and quips on beauty – and one from Hepburn herself stands out: 'Happy girls are the prettiest.'

On the available evidence, we're guessing Olivia is very, very happy indeed.
