Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, attended a reception for Great Britain’s Olympic medallists hosted by the Queen at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday evening. Like so many of the champion athletes in attendance, Kate wore gold.

The Duchess chose a black Temperley London dress embellished with gold flowers for the post-London 2012 Games event.

Athletes including double gold-winner Mo Farah, heptathlete Jessica Ennis and gymnast Beth Tweddle were among the 225 Olympicans invited to the reception. The athletes took the opportunity as another chance to wear their official Olympic formalwear. And medals. They wore those too.
