actress Jennifer Lawrence has crossed off another must-do on the Hollywood checklist, by signing up to represent a French fashion house. She has been announced as the face of Miss Dior handbags, like Marion Cotillard and ELLE cover star Mila Kunis before her.

Already known for her acting talent – she received best-actress nominations for the Academy Awards and the Golden Globes for her role in the 2010 drama Winter’s Bone, and cemented her stardom in The Hunger Games last year – it seems the fashion world has also fallen for Jennifer.

Designers Ralph Lauren and Prabul Gurung courted her for the red carpet and invited her to his inaugural couture show this summer and has now hired her for Miss Dior.

Jennifer claims the fashion world is a novelty for her: ‘I hate being overdressed so I normally find a way to "casualise" anything too showy,’ she told WWD. ‘If I have a red-carpet event, I definitely want a couple of hours to get ready. But for my everyday life, I’m normally ready in 15 minutes.’
