Looking dazzling on the red carpet in Dior Couture at the gala screening of her new film, The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, on Wednesday evening, Emma Watson’s outfit was a far cry from the cabaret costume she wears as her character Sam – an American high school student who also performs in a Rocky Horror Picture Show tribute. ‘Oh God, I was terrified!’ Emma told ELLE of filming those scenes. ‘But it was really fun once I got over how weird it was to be wearing corsets and fishnet tights.’

Fishnets aside, Emma added she could easily relate to her character. ‘I think in my more free spirited, spontaneous moments I am Sam. She does her own thing, which I really respect, and she is a very unique character.’

Next up Emma is working with Academy Award winning director of Black Swan, Darren Aronofsky in a retelling of the biblical tale of Noah. And the one thing Emma would save in a flood? 'My cats!'

The Perks Of Being A Wallflower is in cinemas on 3 October.
