It has been eight years since The Killers first appeared on the music scene with the unforgettable track, Mr Brightside, in 2004. And after four albums – and one solo – Brandon Flowers is back to lead the band into it’s next chapter.

With fifth album (Battle Born) out this week, Brandon talks takes part in the October issue ELLE Q&A discussing the latest record and being at the top of his game. Despite being in the band for ten years, the lead singer reveals he has recently taken up singing lessons to maximize his singing abilities (can anyone say ‘perfectionist’? Although that might be why his music is so perfect.)

Proving himself as charming as his on stage persona, we asked who always looks good to him, and he replied: ‘My wife, Tanya. She recently shaved her head for [cancer charity] St Baldrick’s and she’s still a stunner. She can pull anything off.’

While his wife is clearly his favourite person, what of his favourite fashion item? ‘I have an denim jacket I’ve been wearing for six years – it looks cooler every time I wear it.’ Charm, style, and perfect vocals? No need to ask why Brandon is an ELLE favourite.

Battle Born, the new album by The Killers, is on out today and is available to download via .
