The wait is over. One of our favourite bands are back. The XX return to our listening pleasure with their first single Angels from their eagerly anticipated second album Coexist (out on 10 September).
All melancholic and minimal beats with gorgeous vocals from frontwoman Romy Madley Croft, Angels takes a slightly new direction for the three-piece from London with a percussion middle section. But don't worry, the soothing vibe remains and we can't wait to hear the rest of the album.
The XX, completed by Jamie Smith and Oliver Sim, won the esteemed Mercury Music prize with their debut record XX in 2010 and we're sure Coexist will be as groundbreaking not to mention downright lovely as their first.
