The second-highest earner is Justin Bieber, who made $55m from his record sales, concerts and commercial endorsements. Rihanna ($53m), Gaga ($52m), Katy Perry ($45m) and Adele ($35m), who recently announced she is expecting her first child, fill out the top five.
Women commanded six of the top 10 spots. Were seeing this confluence of talented young female stars, list author Dorothy Pomerantz told the New York Daily News. They have such distinct personalities and sounds, they can all co-exist without cannibalizing each other.
Forbes took album and concert sales, movie paychecks, profit participation, endorsements and advertising work into account in formulating its annual ranking.
