Last night, as the fashion crowd enjoyed the Met Ball over in New York, British Grammy-award-winning musician Adele waved goodbye to her 25th year with a low-key restaurant outing in London.

Adele’s attention-grabbing action came in the form of a cryptic tweet sent from her account on Sunday night: ‘Bye bye 25… See you again later in the year.’

The Twittersphere was quick to declare Adele’s third album will follow the pattern set by her to previous – 19 and 21 - named for the age she was when she wrote them.

In the four years since her last album Adele has won eight Grammys and an Academy Award, been honoured with an MBE at Buckingham Palace and given birth to her son, Angelo, (now 18 months old) with partner Simon Konecki (a charity CEO).

Considering all this personal and professional good news it’s likely her third album will be more uplifting than its predecessors, and rumour has it a collaboration with Prince features, which is sure to be triumphant.
