The singer and new mum abandoned her high-kickin’ stagewear for a floor sweeping, elegant gown by Stéphane Rolland couture in chartreuse satin as she accepted her accolade for ‘Best Female R&B Artist’. Beyoncé was also able to share in the celebrations of husband, Jay Z, who picked up prizes for ‘Best Group’ and ‘Video of the Year’ for ‘The Throne’.

According to reports, much of the evening’s award show entertainment was dedicated to singer Whitney Houston and disco queen Donna Summer who both died this year. Mariah Carey gave a speech about her late friend Whitney, while singers performed medleys of her songs.

Beyoncé appeared relaxed and comfortable in her formal attire, having accessorized her couture gown with Lorraine Schwartz jewellery and metallic Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci sandals - not forgetting some seriously big and bouncy hair.
