Lupita Nyong’o and Scarlett Johannson are in talks to star in the upcoming Disney remake of The Jungle Book, which makes our inner child very happy (did anyone else watch it on repeat?).

Oscar-winning Nyong’o is in the final negotiations to play Rakcha, a mother wolf who adopts the young Mowgli. It has already been confirmed that Idris Elba will voice the villainous man-eating tiger, Shere Khan, and Johansson is in early talks to voice the film’s other main villain – Kaa, the evil hypnotic snake. Elba impressed us with his performance in Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom and we know Johansson can command attention with her voice alone, as shown by her role in Her.

We can’t wait to hear more about the film, which is set to be a live-action/CGI hybrid, including who is cast as Mowgli.
