Miss Piggy to wear Vuitton to the BAFTAs

Miss Piggy must be in hog heaven. When the glamorous mademoiselle takes to the red carpet for this Sunday’s BAFTA Awards, she’ll be wearing a custom-made ensemble from Louis Vuitton.

Piggy, currently playing a French fashion editor in the new Muppets movie, must have called in a favour from Marc Jacobs. She befriended the Vuitton designer during a New York Fashion Week re-see last spring (of course).

For her duties hosting The Orange BAFTA Red Carpet Show this Sunday, Piggy will wear a ‘50s-inspired gown based on the feminine designs from Vuitton’s ‘And God Created Woman’ collection of autumn-winter 2010.

The blush silk tulle dress features a ruched bodice, tiered skirt and sequinned flower embellishment at the fitted waist, much like the gown that Rosie Huntington-Whiteley wore in the A/W ’10 catwalk show.

‘Moi on the Red Carpet at the BAFTAs wearing Louis Vuitton designed by my dear friend Marc Jacobs,’ Piggy exclaimed in a statement. ‘We have a word for that in Hollywood: Va-va-va-voom.’

We sense a contender for BAFTA best-dressed... Ladies, consider the ante upped.
