Another #ELLEfeminism triumph

And no wonder

The response of our readers to our #ELLEfeminism project last year was phenomenal – and now, it’s received critical acclaim, too.

Out of 700 entries for the prestigious D&AD White Pencil, only 250 were considered by the Jury and of those, just 13 were either put in Book or nominated for an award.

Mother London’s Make Them Pay campaign, which featured in the November 2013 issue's Rebranding Feminism project (created for ELLE in conjunction with the Feminist Times) was one of those final 13.

Little wonder – in highlighting the pay gap, it made national press and sparked comment from the very highest echelons of government. Here’s looking at you, David Cameron.

‘We're delighted that Make Them Pay has had such a phenomenal impact,’ says Katie Mackay, joint head of strategy at Mother. ‘To get in book at D&AD for the White Pencil is recognition of just how great that impact has been to drive change and close the gap.’
