Cheryl confirmed for US X Factor

Its official. After months of speculation, ELLE girl Cheryl Cole has been confirmed as a judge for the US version of X Factor.

The singer will mentor, berate and encourage aspiring pop stars alongside Simon Cowell, music producer Antonio LA Reid and one to-be-announced judge.

I'm thrilled for Cheryl. She is massively excited about this show, and has been fantastic to work with, Cowell said. She is also a complete brat. Most importantly, this girl can spot talent.

The announcement calls into question Coles role in the UK version of the show. In a statement, she remained vague about her participation.

I'm so excited to be taking part in the American version of The X Factor,' Cole, still an unfamiliar character to most American TV viewers, said. 'I absolutely love it here in the UK and with the talent they have out in America, I'm sure we're going to find someone very special. I can't wait to get started.

The move also casts doubt on Coles continued involvement with stylist Victoria Adcock. We hear that Adcock, credited with revamping Coles image from WAG to fab, isnt planning to accompany Cole as she transitions to the US.
