10. Lara Stone, represented by IMG, has earned $3.2 million this year. This Dutch-born beauty made her biggest break with a 2010 Calvin Klein contract, where she featured across the board for several of the brand's collections at once.

9. Victoria's Secret angel, Candice Swanepoel, represented by IMG, has earned $3.3 million. Found browsing a flea market at the tender age of 15, South African Swanepoel has been signed to a number of fashion giants, including Versace and Max Factor. Her rise to international fame was marked, of course, by her being christened a Victoria’s Secret Angel.

8. Ambassador of Estee Lauder, Joan Smalls, represented by IMG models, has racked up $3.5 million in 2013. This Latina lady has been involved in multiple campaigns for major fashion houses since her debut with Versace in 2010. Hailing from Puerto Rica, Smalls claims her modeling success was fuelled by a desire for fortune over fame, and thus keeps a low profile outside of her career.

7. Carolyn Murphy, represented by IMG, wowed the fashion world from the age of 17 and has earned $3.6 million in the last year. Up two places since 2012, Murphy has increased her earnings this year, presenting on popular series Project Runway: All Stars. The 1998 Model of the Year has been exclusively signed to Estee Lauder for 12 years.

6. Hilary Rhoda, represented by Elite, is in her seventh year with Estee Lauder and earned herself $4 million. The 26-year-old American beauty has her manager mother Marianne to thank for her rocketing career. Another Victoria’s Secret Angel, Rhoda’s label loyalties lie with Ralph Lauren, Nike and Hugo Boss.

5. China’s first major supermodel Liu Wen, represented by the Society Management, has earned $4.3 million. The most famous supermodel in China, Wen has helped her country’s fashion economy to boom with her numerous modeling contracts at Estee Lauder, Calvin Klein, H&M and Hugo Boss. The 25-year-old was the first Chinese model to walk the runway as a Victoria’s Secret angel.

4. At 39, the British supermodel Kate Moss is still a hot name in fashion earning $5.7 million in the past year. Queen of the supermodels, Moss has gone from $13.5 million back in 2011 to less than half of that in 2013. Nevertheless, iconic Mrs Jamie Hince has fronted campaigns for Mango, Vogue eyewear and Rimmel this year. As a celebration of Playboy’s 60th anniversary and her 40th birthday, Moss plans to pose topless in the magazine's January edition.

The longest-running Angel in the history of Victoria’s Secret, Brazilian model Adriana Lima owes the majority of her wealth to the lingerie giant, moving up a position to number three this year. The devout Catholic is also the face of Miu Miu, Donna Karan and several others.
