Rihanna and Cheryl rule the BRITs red carpet

There was music and dancing and a selection of riot police, but our attention this morning is firmly fixed on the red carpet. And it's a tie between two stars who get our best dressed vote - Rihanna and Cheryl Cole.

The duo couldn't have opted for different looks. Rihanna, never exactly a shrinking violet when it comes to her sartorial choices, teamed her flame red hair with an eye-popping dress from Christian Dior Couture and turquoise heels.

Cheryl, on the other hand, fresh from her Best Music win at the ELLE Style Awards, opted for a more understated look. She wore a chic black sequinned dress by Stella McCartney, complete with plunging back and slit skirt, and finished her look with nude Louboutin heels and an Alexander McQueen clutch.
