And so it begins... Stars hit the red carpet

The ELLE Style Awards kicked off with a bang as Boy George, Henry Holland, Jameela Jamil, Jaime Winstone, Portia Freeman and hostess-for-the-night Alexa Chung hit the red carpet outside London's Great Connaught Rooms.

Inside, the stars arriving were greeted by the sight of oversized white beds and silver heart shaped balloons (it is Valentine's after all), and the sounds of Boy George and Hanna Hanra on the decks. Meanwhile, any pre-awards nerves were settled by the endless trays of Moët champagne, Gallo wines, Beefeater and Russian Standard cocktails circulating the room.

Even the stars were giddy about the fashion potential of the evening. In the car on his way to the even,t Henry Holland said: 'Sat in the car on the way to ELLE style awards with my legs out straight so my suit doesn't get 'knees' it's not comfy. Fyi.'
