Vegas is number 1 for A-List NYE

Our New Year's Eve hangovers have cleared so we're in a good place again to view the partying pictures of others without feeling queasy. Not that these stars did anything remotely disgraceful or had a hair out of place.

Pictures are just in from the other side of the pond revealing how the highest echelons of Hollywood stars saw in 2011.

Once again Vegas proved the big draw for many celebs with not one but three high profile crowd-pulling events. Jay-Z and Coldplay performed at the Cosmpolitan Marquee club. Beyonce was in attendance with Solange (pictured) alongside Kirsten Dunst, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Florence Welch - who was chummy with Blake Lively - and Jessica Szohr.

Down the strip at Caesar's Palace, Rihanna hosted a party at Pure nightclub while Jennifer Lopez and Marc Antony chose a Beatles meets Cirque du Soleil extravaganza.

It certainly beats shivering for hours to watch a glorified sparkler display or struggling to stay awake for Jools Holland's Hootenanny. How did you see in the New Year? Tweet us @elleuk
