The American institution that is Michael Kors continues to evoke and inspire the American ideal. Not so much the white picket fence one, but the dream of weekday city living and weekends spent at the beach house.
For Spring/Summer 2010, Kors was inspired by a sunshine state of mind. Not so hard to imagine if you live in Kors-land. Linen trench coats, gauze pullovers, cashmere tank dresses and leaf print shirts were accessorised with rugged sandals and strappy belts. Pyjama stripe shirts (there's a lot derived from the humble PJ this season) and a natural palette of hemp, white and grey created a dreamy, easy and relaxed aesthetic for the rich and carefree - or those pretending to be.
