What happened at ELLE's birthday party

The ELLE team and some of the biggest names in British fashion are recovering this morning after celebrating our 25th anniversary, in association with Swarovski, at the Whitechapel Gallery last night. We invited all of our friends - Giles Deacon, Erdem, Holly Fulton, Todd Lynn, Richard Nicoll and Henry Holland (who was joined by Pixie Geldof) all took time out from their fashion week preparations to enjoy cocktails and canapes and a VIP look at the gallery's Alice Neel exhibition.

But we weren't just there to drink champagne. ELLE is hosting a series of talks at the gallery over the coming months with a selection of designers. Last night we kicked off the series with a very special interview with Dame Vivienne Westwood. Interviewed by Whitechapel's Gallery Director, Iwona Blazwick, she talked about everything from her love of art and passion for the environment to her dislike of the fashion industry.

Once the talk was over the crowd hit the dancefloor, and the most hardcore partygoers headed off to Shoreditch House to finish the night.
