Before her tragic death in 2007, Isabella Blow was one of the most iconic faces of the fashion industry. She was famed equally for her eccentric style and her passion for championing emerging designers, most notably her discovery of and subsequent friendship with Alexander McQueen. And, unsurprisingly, her wardrobe was something of a treasure trove.
Now her collection of fashion-forward pieces is set to go under the hammer. According to WWD, Christies will be holding an auction in London on 15 September. On offer will be creations by John Galliano and Manolo Blahnik and an array of the Philip Treacy hats that were her signature. And, sure to be the subject of considerable attention, 90 pieces by Alexander McQueen.
A coffee table book paying tribute to Isabella Blow will also be released to coincide with the sale.More
