The stars go to the Opera in New York

Maggie Gyllenhaal looked every in the film star in a stunning nude dress. Ever the fashion pioneer, Chloe Sevigny ditched the traditional red carpet frock and opted instead for a chic black jumpsuit paired, in honour of the occasion, with a pair of elbow length opera gloves. And Ginnifer Goodwin - who is fast becoming something of a style icon for Team ELLE - looked ultra-chic in a black bustier and cropped black trousers.

The event was sponsored by Yves Saint Laurent, and lucky Camilla Belle got to wear a beautiful chiffon dress by the French fashion house. And Maggie gave the label a nod too by sporting a pair of its classic Tributes.

On the beauty front it was a game of two halves. Chloe and Maggie were in the classic camp championing red lips - Chloe paired hers with a sleek updo, while Maggie opted for effortless, soft curls. But Ginnifer and Camilla stole the show with their flawless on-trend nude looks. Both stars opted for hyper-real complexions and groomed brows paired with smoky contoured eyes and painted lips in the softest putty, mushroom and greige hues. This is the benchmark for our nude looks this summer and our winning look of the night.
