With excitement about the long-awaited release of Baz Luhrmanns hitting fever pitch, its stars turned out for the world premiere in New York City last night.
The lady of the hour, Carey Mulligan - aka Daisy Buchanan - left the flapper trappings at home, opting instead for a chic, minimalist strapless cocktail dress by Lanvin. Elsewhere, soundtrack contributors Florence Welch and Emeli Sandé flew the flag for British talent - and, of course, there was Leo, suited and booted to perfection. Jay would've been proud.

Carey Mulligan accessorised her simple red Lanvin sheath with a neat jazz-era token: diamond earrings by Tiffany & Co.
Leonardo DiCaprio, who plays the eponymous Jay Gatsby, opted for a navy suit and matching tie.

Jay-Z may have produced the Gatsby soundtrack, was sans his contributor wife Beyoncé on the evening; her tour is currently in the UK.
